I’m back from Yellowstone, but I still find myself flipping through my camera roll in total silence. Words honestly can’t describe the shock.
I finally made it to the place I’ve been dreaming about! Here’s a breakdown of my honest thoughts and must-see spots for anyone planning a trip. 👇
📍 Destination: Yellowstone National Park 🌍 Location: USA (Spanning Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho)

✨ Grand Prismatic Spring | My Absolute TOP 1 Promise me you will take the trail to the upper overlook! If you just look at it from the lower boardwalk, it just looks like a regular blue pool and you’ll completely miss the magic. From high above, the concentric rings of gradient colors look exactly like a rainbow pupil of the earth. The sheer scale of it hits your soul.
✨ Morning Glory Pool | An Underrated Masterpiece I honestly didn’t expect much, but it blew me away! The center is a deep cobalt blue that bleeds into a vibrant golden rim, like a blooming morning glory flower. It is a hundred times more stunning than in photos. The only downside? The crowds are real. If you want a clean shot with no one in it, you have to be patient.
✨ Old Faithful | The “Classic Icon” of Yellowstone It erupts like clockwork—roughly every 90 minutes. Our private driver was a seasoned pro; he timed our arrival perfectly. The second we got out of the car, it started erupting. Watching that massive column of water shoot into the sky was spectacular. Quick tip: Always check the eruption schedule at the Visitor Center beforehand, or you’ll be waiting around for another hour and a half.
✨ Castle Geyser | The Geyser with Its Own Soundtrack This one is so cool! When it goes off, the steam roars so loudly it sounds like an old-school steam engine blasting right in your ear. It erupts for over 20 minutes, but only occurs every 12 to 14 hours. Catching it is pure luck, and our luck was insane that day—we got to see the whole thing.
✨ West Thumb | Ethereal Lakeside Hot Springs These hot springs blend right into Yellowstone Lake. The water is a soft, pale blue with gentle mist swirling above it. Standing there feels like being in a dreamworld. The vibe check here is unmatched, and I took so many aesthetic photos.
✨ Mud Volcano & Dragon’s Mouth Spring | Pure Wilderness Vibes The mud at Mud Volcano is constantly bubbling and churning. Dragon’s Mouth Spring isn’t huge, but the sound it makes is massive—like a dragon growling from deep within the cave. Standing next to it actually made me a little nervous in the best way possible. It gives you that raw, untamed wilderness feeling.
✨ Lower Yellowstone Falls | Overwhelmingly Peaceful You must go to Artist Point! It’s just a 5-minute walk from the parking lot. The canyon walls are a striking golden-yellow, contrasted against the roaring waterfall. When the sunlight hits, the entire canyon literally glows. I stood there for the longest time, completely unable to tear myself away.

🐻 A Quick Note on Wildlife & Tips Our luck peaked on this trip—we actually spotted a grizzly bear! Just a reminder to always keep a safe distance from the wildlife.
- Where to stay: Choose West Yellowstone. It is way more convenient than the cabins inside the park, and you’ll have plenty of options for food and supplies.
- Weather: The temperature fluctuates by over 20°C (40°F) between day and night. Even in summer, a jacket is non-negotiable, and heavy sunscreen is an absolute must!

You only truly understand the overwhelming power of nature once you are here. The steam thick with the scent of sulfur, bisons casually jaywalking across the road… every single frame is a memory I’ll treasure forever.
